Evidence for planning and policy

Since 2018, I have supported public administrations, development organisations, and businesses in turning data into actionable evidence for planning and policymaking. My work spans the entire process from data to decision: making existing data accessible and usable, designing and conducting surveys to fill data gaps, and developing projections and scenarios to inform future planning. My thematic expertise covers education, labour markets and demography, health and care, as well as international trade and global value chains. I work with German state ministries, GIZ, international organisations, and private companies, often in close collaboration with statistical offices.

Data at a glance. What do we actually know, and how can we see it at a glance?

An overview of the available data with their possibilities and limits, prepared as dashboards, maps, tables and reports that staff can use and update in-house.

Projections and planning scenarios. What happens if…?

Projections of population, labour supply and demand, plus scenarios for policy changes such as new regulations or tariffs, so clients can compare options before deciding.

Surveys and evaluation. What is really happening on the ground, and is it working?

Surveys of employees, businesses and programme beneficiaries, from design and sampling to fieldwork, analysis and indicator reporting for donors.

Thematic focus

Education, labour markets and demography.

Educational pathways, skilled labour supply and population development, and what they mean for planning in schools, training and the labour market.

Health, care and social infrastructure.

Long-term care, working conditions in care professions, occupational health and childcare planning.

Trade, value chains and sustainable development.

Agricultural value chains, smallholders and small businesses, and the effects of trade policy and supply chain regulation on producer countries.
