I am an economist and postdoctoral researcher at the German Institute for Global and Area Studies and the Kiel Institute for the World Economy.

I am a research fellow at the Kiel Centre for Globalization (KCG) and part of the Collaborative Research Project Go-Chains: Sustainability Governance of Global Value Chains.

From 2020 to 2025, I co-hosted the Research Network Sustainable Global Supply Chains, an initiative dedicated to making research on sustainability in global value chains accessible to policymakers and providing evidence-based insights to inform policy debates and decisions.

From 2020 to 2022, I served as Managing Director of the Poverty Reduction, Equity and Growth Network (PEGNet), an initiative dedicated to strengthening research collaboration among academic institutions working on poverty and development issues in developing countries and fostering knowledge exchange between researchers and development practitioners.

I am an empirical economist specializing in international and development economics. My research focuses on global value chains, multinational firms, corporate responsibility, and the social and environmental impacts of globalization. I am particularly interested in how firms’ integration into global value chains and sustainable corporate governance shape firm performance and regional development. To investigate these questions, I apply modern microeconometric methods to detailed firm-level data.

I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from Kiel University. Prior to my doctoral studies, I completed a research internship at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). I was a visiting researcher at the University of Nottingham in 2020, hosted by Professor Sourafel Girma, and at Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics in 2024, hosted by Professor Joana Silva.
